You know one thing is for sure. You have to have perseverance in this life or you won't make it. No matter what is thrown at you, you have to push through. There is always an answer! It may not be the one you think, but if you have an open mind and the dogged mindset of a survivor, you will prevail.
I was so down after my recent attempts to buy the company, I was lost. I was frustrated, but I never gave up. You have to get up every morning and put your clothes on, and see what you can do about making your life better. You need a focus, a goal, number 1. What is your goal? It doesn't have to be a life changing goal, just, what do you want to do today? It is that simple. Once you understand that, the things that hold you back disappear. The things that make you say, oh, I can't or shouldn't do that become inconsequential, it is your focus that will set your path. This holds true for mostly everything I have encountered in life. When we lose that process, that's when things go south, and when they do, which they will, you just have to pick yourself back up again, and start it all over again!!
My chosen path was to own that company and I was going to find a way, and no one was going to stop me. I didn't have a plan, but I had something to aspire to, so I just kept on pushing, kept on searching. Once you give up, what do you have? I didn't want to know the answer to that, so I focused on what I could do, not what I couldn't. It sounds like something out of a motivational, Tony Robbins speech, but it is SO true, trust me.
So, as the days went on, there was more turmoil and dysfunction. There were days, I just wanted to walk out of here and say, bye I'll go work for Starbuck's or whatever coffee company. But I never did, because I realized if I ever got the chance, I could make this work. All I needed was money. That's all and a proposal that my owner would accept. That's all right? Well money is hard to come by, and I already found out, if he knew I had someone behind me with money, it wasn't going to work.
So I racked my brain, I thought about getting a loan from another bank. After rwriting a detailed business plan and after 3 banks seeing the mess we were in, they basically laughed me out the door!! I remember one loan officer telling me, "RUN"!!
I wasn't going to run, I was going to walk into that office one day as the owner, and I would make it work!!! But I still didn't have the answer!!!
